Ashoka draws on Fellows’ innovations and insights to build a global
society in which everyone may enjoy equity, justice, and social
inclusion as full citizens.
Ashoka’s
Law for All initiative works with social entrepreneurs and partners
from the public, private, and social sectors to defend changemakers,
encourage pro bono legal culture, and foster access to justice.
Law for All supports social entrepreneurs on three levels.
Fellow Security offers prevention and emergency support to Ashoka Fellows facing threats, and enables social entrepreneurs to work safely and securely through building support networks.
Advocates for Social Entrepreneurs facilitates pro bono legal assistance for Ashoka Fellows and promotes the culture of pro bono within the legal profession, ensuring that all individuals and communities may access equal protection under the law.
Access to Justice articulates and applies leverage points for effectively influencing public policy, and engages social, business, and policy entrepreneurs; academia; the media; and other civil society leaders to put citizens in charge. Access to Justice Workshops have addressed a wide range of issues including: local corruption, freedom of information, widows’ rights, rights of the mentally ill, and rights of landless citizens.
