error on codename change+issues
Upon change of codename of a cardtype, access to original subcards and to the ability to edit the cardtype was lost.
codename SharedVision was changed to vision. (note case inflection)
all instances of this cardtype became inaccessible as a result as did capacity to edit the cardtype
error corrected through intervention in the database
Cardtype codename changes should validate or give warning if unsuitable, or warning of possible problems.
Gerry thought it may have to do with inflection.
Our only means of repair was to go directly to the database, which requires some technical expertise.
Yeah, we should really hide that interface. You should pretty much never change the codename unless you have a code-based reason to do so. I think lew added this to make it easier for coders to administrate certain things (esp Ruby cards).
This will actually be fixed once type relations are done with ids (rather than codenames)
