item view is set to content, which works fine until you page to the second set of images; then it reverts to closed (and paging back to first set, it's still closed)
For searches, you can work around this by putting "view": "link" in the WQL
I think we're going to need this in order for the new Recent Changes setup to work right.

actually, I don't think that's right, since I can represent the item view in the search.
