Extremely difficult to use gear menu on iPad

Often, tapping on the gear icon does nothing. After repeated tries I usually, eventually get the menu to come up. Zooming in doesn't seem to make it any easier to get the menu. Odd but not a problem: once the menu is open, tapping elsewhere does not make it go away.
Tapping edit works to edit the content, but there's no apparent way to select any of the other subitems (name, type...). Same for other submenus.
Once I do manage to get into edit mode, no amount of tapping seems to bring up the menu.
After getting back to view mode, again no amount of tapping seems to bring up the menu. Reloading the page makes it possible again.
Do you know if this is a new problem, or has it always been like that?
I think some javascript upgrades may have caused problems...
I have a vague memory of trying it out on an iPad before and it not being this bad.
1.12.13 includes an update to jquery mobile that should get things back to where they were (ie, not perfect but not "extremely difficult"). As of this moment that release is deployed only to the dev server (with test and en), but deployment elsewhere will come soon.
Yup, working better. Will start a dev ticket with issues at some point (don't see one that exists already).
Can't paste in edit mode. Tap and hold brings up magnifying glass, but after I let go I don't get paste, etc. options
