Is there any difference between the first account made in a new deck which gets admin prefs and users you add later and give admin rights to? The first person that signed up wasn't the one we actually want to be the master admin account, if such a thing exists.

No, there's nothing super special about the first user. These things happen when you set up a wagn:

 

1. you're given the "Administrator" role. (that can be edited away)

2. your name is added to the *to field of the "signup alert email". (that too)

 

That's about it.
