Hopefully there is just a simple answer for this. See example
In this rule Quote+*type+*structure => {{+quote}} {{+reference|type:uri}}
I wan't it to link to what's in +reference, but I want the title to be the name of _self. So, if I have the Quote card: 'A Quote', the title on the link is "A Quote", not "A Quote+reference" as it is now.
I think you mean you want the title to be _left. have you tried "title:_left" ?

I guess I should have tried it. The title option is treated like a name, I didn't expect that, but it makes sense.
