add a way to change set with new easy formatting
Support Ticket
The new easy access to form element settings (part of the work to improve form creation experience) defaults to type+right (eg 'All "+scope" cards on "Bud" cards') - woud be nice to have an easy way to shift to eg "All +scope cards". http://patterns.transitionresearchnetwork.org/Bud+*type+*content
interesting. Seems like what we want is to go to something like the rule interface, but just for *content
I can imagine wanting this on other settings as well, especially on a site like TRN's where there are multiple types with the same plus cards in their forms (Bud, Flower, Fruit).

don't get it. we were talking about linking from the current *content rule to a place where you can tweak the sets for that rule. If you're dealing with other settings, don't you just click on "rules"?

If you're on Bud+*type+*content and click on "+Scope" you get an interface to change the settings for Bud+Scope+*type_plus_right but once you're there you may realize that what you really want is to edit the settings for Scope+*right. What I was suggesting was adding a way to shift to that set. I now realize that this is already possible if you go in and edit a setting first. This is not as discoverable as it could be, but anyway not about the new easy formatting. Sorry about the confusion.

you can already select the set via that interface. It's just named after the narrowest set.

oh, you said that. actually, might be curse of knowledge. most would explore the interface before they know enough to be confused :)

Yeah, that's what I realized. I do think it could be easier, but that's certainly way unurgent.

IMHO it would be an improvement to add a way to change to related sets from list of a set's rules (without having to edit a specific rule first).
--John Abbe.....2013-03-10 21:39:44 +0000
hmm, that sounds much more confusing to me.

maybe it's a labeling issue. Note that this view is showing all the rules that apply, *even if the rules are attached to a more general set*. So the label may read something like "all +whatever cards on +thistype", but in practice what is being shown is "all rules that will apply here". If we were to add interface to show a narrower set, it would then be showing "all rules that apply here except for some", which is why I think it's way more confusing.

not sure there's a good change idea here yet. I'm going to mark it "answered", but feel free to change that if desired.
