how to eliminate "Home" link in top bar?

When I delete it from my default layout the top bar becomes just a few pixels tall and the account-related links become invisible.
nothing wagn-specific there. Just HTML/CSS.
You could try a non-breaking space ( )

That did it, thanks! I was looking for CSS that was making height of the a tag but failing utterly.
