Not permissions in terms of our existing system, not sure if we want a new tag for other aspects of security, or not.

I think we've actually done it before. You do, of course, have to set up ssl certificates, but that's entirely external to wagn.

This is at the edge of my understanding. But I see sites where even if you come in via http, you get nudged over to https as soon as you try to authenticate. Seems like that would require some work on Wagn itself.

This can sure be done if Wagn (like any other web application) works behind another web server acting as a proxy (apache or nginx, for example). In this case http to https forwarding described as rewrite rules in this web proxy config files.
