Adding image captions

Support Ticket

Image cards have display size options, but do not seem to have image caption options. It seems to me it would be a common enough thing to want to include some sort of explanatory text under images, but that may be because I work in publishing and we pretty much always do that. I'm sure there's a way to play with CSS enough to do this, but users are more likely to want to just enter the text either as a property of the image card itself or as part of the inclusion link. Would you consider adding a caption: attribute to image cards that would add a div class when the page is displayed that would be style-eable via the *css page?

This sounds like a very valuable use case to support. I think the short answer is that we've got a clear pre-2.0 roadmap lined up, and if this is unfunded, it's not vital enough to bump any of those priorities. But that just means I'm personally not interested in volunteering time to build it at present. If someone else is, then they can certainly build a module for it. And if there's a major push to get it into standard wagn deploys, I'll help facilitate that discussion/process.

Being not a business or independently wealthy, I can't really put up funds to get a particular thing written. But I thought it would be worth putting forward ideas for future roadmap consideration. Cheers!

Yes! It's great!

Sorry that my first response sounded unappreciative. It's a great idea and thank you for submitting it! We'll track it as such (in an idea card) and try to get it on the post 2.0 roadmap.

I always try to be clear about when and how things can get built so that when I say "yes, let's do that, " it doesn't sound like the functionality will show up next week. But thank you thank you for the feedback and creativity!
