add WQL syntax to specify type

Idea

If an included card doesn't exist, "type:foo" tells Wagn to default its type when added to "foo". Currently there's no way to do this via WQL.

E.g.

"type": "foo"

?.  "type":"foo" already has a clear meaning in WQL.   what's an example of wql where you'd want this?

He isn't talking about WQL, but rather "inclusion" syntax. The way we typically do this is with a *default rule based on the tag or type or both.

Say you are including { {+phone}}. I add the rule 'phone+*right+*default' and give it the Cardtype "Phrase" and +phone will have Phrase for the initial Cardtype.

this is an old discussion with John. pretty sure he does mean WQL.

I guess I don't understand the question, then. If "Included" means included in the search results, how could it also be missing?

I suppose with append / prepend? I would prefer to use the new n-depth inclusion syntax we discussed. Always seemed weird to put view stuff in WQL.

"new n-depth inclusion syntax we discussed" ? Remind me?

oh, I think that "we" was me and Gerry. I'll ticket it and explain at add n-depth inclusion syntax

the example sets foo as type, so I gather this has been addressed.
