how to find all non-star cards?

technically, we use "star cards" (as defined by *star) to refer to simple cards starting with '*'.  So I think your search does work.

Were you hoping to find all cards where no part of them started with a *?  or just not the very first character?  or not found by *star or *rstar?...

Just not the first character. What I intended to use it for is to find all "+*edit help" cards that are not built in (i.e., aren't for star cards). Just found that would include email config+*right+*edit help, and realized I could use edited_by: http://psychfactoids.718.cldstr.com/wagn/card/edit/Edit_help_text

I just made you an admin in case you want to look at it (and for future issues), but yes it works, and I ended up building something by hand anyway to custom-order and group the cards.
