newCardtype+discussion
Hey eidosabi,
Thanks for doing this! Glad to hear it went well on the mac. I'm predominantly using a mac, too, but I've installed and uninstalled so much at this point that I'm not a very good datapoint any more.
The new cardtype behavior is because new wagns come with a *content rule for Cardtype cards. It's the same as the old *default rule, but we thought this might be a little cleaner. Definitely not idea to have the link there immediately.
We haven't migrated the cards in old wagns to behave this way because so many have already customized their cardtype structure.
I would think you would have to get your db settings right *before* running rake wagn:create, no? Otherwise I don't know how wagn:create would know where to put it?
I'm definitely missing something about how to format new Cardtypes and am looking forward to a little bit more documentation and maybe even a simple walk-through.
Thanks for the correction - yes, the database.yml has to be edited between env ENGINE=postgres rake wagn:install (when database.yml is created) and bundle exec rake wagn:create (when the database is actually created and seeded).

I will try to add more docs and a walkthrough soon. In the meantime, if you just fill in a description for the cardtype and click "save", then you will have a starting place for your cardtype. Then you can go into the options tab to alter its content setting.
Note that in the options tab you will initially see the settings for all the cards of your new cardtype. You may want to use the dropdown to select 'The card "[NewLayoutName]"'.
