trouble with deleting and recreating card

From account http://patterns.transitionresearchnetwork.org/John_Abbe_Too tried to delete http://patterns.transitionresearchnetwork.org/foobar and got:

Ooo. Sorry, but...
You need permission to read this card: foobar.

(That account has permission to view Buds.)

Then I tried to recreate it, and on submitting got an error that it already existed. So I cleared the cached, tried again, and still get the error (this time immediately when entering the name in the name field, which definitely did not happen first time around).

Went through the whole thing again with http://patterns.transitionresearchnetwork.org/test_pattern and got the same results.

Note that even after clearing the cache both card names autocomplete from te search bar. Before clearing the cache, going to one of these cards offered to add the card (as if it didn't exist). After clearing the cache, the card shows up and seems normal.
