Wagn is an open web platform for collaboration. Wagn helps you create and maintain affordable custom websites to track resources and flows for your work teams, personal projects, and communities. And because everything in Wagn is built from simple building blocks, called cards, you can integrate your web systems in imaginative and powerful ways. Wagn lets you organize information into chunks called cards. Each of these "wiki" building blocks has a unique name and a revision history. Cards can include other cards inside them, and you can edit those nesting in place. You can display nesting in many different ways using views. How People are Using Wagn

Every card also has a type, which determines what kind of content it has. Cards with the Image type contain images, File cards contain files, etc. You can also add custom types, such as Organizations, or Products, or Species.
You can apply many different settings -- such as permissions, or showing a card's table of contents -- to any set of cards. Sets can be as general as all cards, as specific as a single one, or any of a wide variety of selections in between.
In Wagn you can create rich patterns of default content and template-controlled content by combining types, nesting, views, settings, and relative names.
Want the sidebar on the left, or to completely change the default look? You can offer a custom layout for the entire website, any particular card or types, and some other sets of cards. You can also edit the CSS for your site, directly in Wagn itself.
When you get an account on a Wagn, you get a User card. These cards usuallyhave a form that invites you to upload a picture and fill in other information about yourself, offers space for others to leave you a note, etc.
When you request an account, you fill out a form and an Sign up card is created. When your request is approved, the information you entered typically becomes part of your User card. (You can alternately set up Wagn to approve accounts automatically.)
You can easily upload Files and Images, and then include them wherever you'd like them to appear or be available for download.
Pointer cards let you maintain lists of other cards, such as a list of files, who attended a conference session, or all of the organizations you are affiliated with.
In addition to the navbox at the top of every Wagn page, you can create Search cards, which can display something as simple as all cards mentioning a particular organization, to something as complex as all the people who attended the same conference sessions that you did.
The web offers a lot of great content and services, and you can incorporate any of it into your Wagn using HTML cards -- videos, Twitter or Facebook status feeds, geographic information, etc.
You can be notified by email whenever a particular card is edited, or when a card of any type is added or edited. In addition, we offer RSS feeds on every Search card. There's even a flexible email system for sending richly-patterned emails to people when cards of any set are added.
You were in the middle of editing something when your computer crashed, or the browser window was accidentally closed? No problem -- the last edit being worked on is always automatically saved as you type, and can easily be recovered.
You can allow people to add comments, or even edit some cards without having an account. To prevent spam, you can require that people doing this to prove they are human by typing in some text that's hard for computers (but easy for humans) to read.
It's easy to rename cards, and Wagn will even automatically update all references to that card for you.
